Lamisil Topical is the topical form of Lamisil which is a Fungal Treatment.

Lamisil Topical (Terbinafine) is the last generation and most effective remedy to treat fungal infections today, and is used for nails fungi, athlete foot, ring worm and others.

Lamisil is a trademark for Terbinafine hydrochloride which is a synthetic antifungal agent component own by Novartis Pharmaceutical. The Terbinafine was first introduced in 1996 in USA.

It exist under two forms, Lamisil tablet and Lamisil cream.

• The tablets are used mainly for Nails or Toe Nails fungi infection cause of the hardness of toe nails tissues, which imposes an internal treatment to kill the fungi.
• The cream is used for others fungi infections as athlete foot, ring worm, etc

Topical says that the Lamisil Cream acts superficially, so the cream is applied to the skin where appear the symptoms of the specific Fungal infection

It's why the Lamisil Topical is prescribed mainly for skin fungal infections (fingers, athlete foot, jock itch..) and why it isn't really effective on the long term for a severe Nails fungi.

But as the fungi frequently propagate around, the Lamisil Topical help to treat other areas infected than nails.

On skin fungi infections, the effectiveness is very fast, and generally, 7 days later the symptoms disappear.
